St Matthews Footscray

St Matthews Footscray is a church family whose particular mission has been to love and care for refugees.

So many of our members past and present received safe home and passage not just through Bonnegilla on their refugee journey from war torn Europe, but through shelter at Kakuma Refugee Camp, or after perilous journeys by sea.

Our community has found safety and freedom to live and worship our God in Australia, free from war and oppression and it has been our joy to watch diverse refugee communities come through our door and grow and thrive in Australia.

We wish to remember that others still suffer, and our walk will be to do something practical to help the children in particular.

Funds raised will support vulnerable children impacted by poverty and war in Somalia, South Sudan, Kenya, Ethiopia, Burundi, Nepal and Ukraine.

Just $25 can change the future for a vulnerable child.
For example:

$25 can provide a school kit for a refugee child in Kakuma refugee camp, Kenya.
$25 can provide 5kg of maize seeds to four families in Burundi so they can provide food for their children.
$25 can provide a hygiene kit for a young child in South Sudan.
$25 can provide clean drinking water for a month for a child impacted by war in Ukraine.
