I'm stepping out so children can step up!

I’m joining with others on Saturday 22 March at Albury/Bonegilla to provide food, schooling, and safety for 75,000 vulnerable children impacted by conflict and poverty.

As a personal challenge I’ve committed to walking 10km/week until 22 March 2025, to remind the Australian community of the difficulties children face when they flee conflict and seek refuge, or are impacted by poverty.

I’m also committed to fundraising so that I can help as many children as possible access the essentials of a happy, healthy life (things that we take for granted!); nutritious food to grow up strong, schooling so they are free to flourish, and safety growing up in families that are independent and hopeful for the future.

Funds raised will support vulnerable children impacted by poverty and war in Somalia, South Sudan, Kenya, Ethiopia, Burundi, Nepal and Ukraine.

Just $25 can change the future for a vulnerable child.

 
For example $25 can provide...
- a school kit for a refugee child in Kakuma refugee camp, Kenya.
- 5kg of maize seeds to four families in Burundi so they can provide food for their children.
- a hygiene kit for a young child in South Sudan.
- clean drinking water for a month for a child impacted by war in Ukraine.
